Opened in 2007, we’re proud to showcase our convivial vibe, casual-yet-elevated cuisine, and a bar that showcases BC’s best craft beer, Old & New World wines, signature and classic cocktails and a carefully curated collection of whisk(e)y and spirits from all corners of the globe.

OUR HISTORY

Named after the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood formerly known as Brewery Creek that was home to the original Vancouver Brewery and its flagship label Cascade, we opened our doors in 2007 and quickly established our bona fides as a top-shelf destination for cocktails, late-night libations and a convivial atmosphere.

OUR FOOD

Our culinary team takes great pride in sourcing ingredients that showcase the very best fresh, local and in-season ingredients available. Our trusted network of purveyors bring us a daily bounty of BC’s farms, fields and ocean and provide the inspiration for an elevated menu of dishes to please eye and palate alike.

OUR BAR

The Cascade bar program stakes its claim as one of the best in the city thanks to BC’s best craft beer, Old and New World wines, signature and classic cocktails, and a carefully curated collection of whisk(e)y and spirits that hail from all corners of the globe. It’s all garnished with a side of our signature Cascade hospitality.

DARREL AHENAKEW: HEAD CHEF

Chef Darrel Ahenakew is the beating heart of the back of house at beloved Mount Pleasant gastrolounge The Cascade Room and the very definition of grace under pressure.

Originally from Saskatoon, he first dipped his toe into the culinary realm as a hobby in high school and quickly discovered his passion, which eventually led him to head west to Vancouver and jump into the trade with both feet at the Dubrulle Culinary Institute.

After graduating, he honed his craft and sharpened his skills in kitchens at local hotspots like Cin Cin Ristorante, Il Giardino, Secret Location, El Santo and Tutto before joining the family at The Cascade Room in 2021.

“At Cascade, I’m fortunate to have found a place where I can draw inspiration from different cultures, indulge my sense of creativity and incorporate some of the very best products available to us from BC’s farms, fields and ocean,” he says. “We’re blessed to have such an abundance available to us at farmers’ markets, so coming up with new dishes that showcase local ingredients offers me a constant source of inspiration.”
